Retail (R)Evolution: Luxury Meets Cannabis on June 14

Cannabis and hemp have exploded into a whole new genre of modern and luxury-minded wellness brands, beauty products, apothecaries, and media outlets. Who is leading this modern retail evolution? On June 14, we’ll discuss this topic with leading visionaries in the space.

A new wave of modern cannabis and hemp-derived products has entered the global retail mainstream.

Chicago-based market research firm The Brightfield Group predicts that hemp-derived cannabidiol (a.k.a. CBD, which is non-psychoactive) will be a billion-dollar market by 2020 — with an expected 55% annual growth rate.

According to Leafly, “the cannabis market only recently started adding luxury products that wouldn’t look out of place at Bergdorf.”

And along with it, an entirely new genre of design-forward, and luxury-minded visionaries in the modern Cannabis and Hemp space.

And more questions: Are apothecaries the new dispensaries, or vice versa? Are traditional retailers (large and small) prepared for this new lifestyle category?

On June 14, our team is producing a special B2B panel event with four leading visionaries to discuss how wellness, skin, beauty, accessories, and media brands are elevating the market into a massive new retail category.

Elevated Talks

Luxury Meets Cannabis: A Conversation at NeueHouse NYC.

Our Panelists

Andrew Goetz, Co-founder + Owner, (MALIN+GOETZ)

Andrew founded visionary apothecary brand (MALIN+GOETZ) with Matthew Malin in 2004. They now have 10 stores across L.A., NYC, and London — and another opening next month in Hong Kong(!). His iconic cannabis candle and related Cannabis Collection have transformed the modern apothecary as we know it.

Experiential: To celebrate the launch of their “Cannabis eau de parfum,” he and his team created a pop-up “olfactory dispensary.”

Design: His keen eye for design is reflected in (MALIN+GOETZ) stores’ modern interpretation of the traditional neighborhood apothecary as well as the brand’s sleek, minimalist packaging which has been featured at the San Francisco Museum of Art and the Cooper Hewitt Design Museum.

Cindy Capobianco, Founder, Lord Jones

“We believe we are a part of a revolution,” said Lord Jones’s founder, Cindy Capobianco, in last month’s Vanity Fair piece, “A Cannabis Craze Takes Over Skin Care.”

Los Angeles-based Lord Jones is the go-to luxury brand for CBD-infused wellness and health products and, according to Coveteur, “is the CBD and THC brand you’re seeing everywhere.”

PR Prowess: before launching Lord Jones, Cindy worked in the fashion departments at Vogue and Allure magazines and was the Director of Public Relations for a number of major U.S. fashion brands, including Donna Karan and Banana Republic.

Partnerships: The Standard Hotel now stocks their CBD-derived products (a body lotion and gourmet gumdrops) in their minibars.
