Runner, filmmaker and activist Carlos Ibarra set out on a run two weeks ago and hasn’t stopped yet.
He expects to hang up his Asics in about 2,400 miles.
Running from New York to California, Ibarra will raise funds and awareness for three nonprofit organizations that benefit disadvantaged youth. Along the way (in a feat of ming-boggling multi-tasking), Ibarra is producing a narrative film with Sade Clacken Joseph and Concetta Panzariello about other ‘dreamers’ across the country and how they realized their own goals.
His team posts content regularly on RunCarlosRun.org and an Instagram feed (RunCarlosRun) outlining his progress. This week, he crossed into a hot and humid Indiana:
Covering an average of 40 miles per day, Carlos expects to land in Southern California sometime in July.
We will post updates of his progress regularly here, so check back soon for more content! You can support Carlos by donating to his cause, sending a care package or submitting an inspiring story. Find more information about how to get involved on the ‘Run Carlos Run’ Support Page.
